The Local Slice | Our Story

From Culinary School to Convoy's Kitchen

The Local Slice was built on a simple belief: great food brings people together. After high school, Chef Tyler packed up and moved to Louisville, Kentucky. He worked full-time while putting himself through culinary school, learning the value of hard work, perseverance, and real hospitality. He sharpened his pastry skills at a French patisserie, then finished his degree down south in New Orleans, a city that runs on good food and gathering around the table. After college, he came back home to Convoy, Ohio. Three months later, at just 22 years old, he opened his very first restaurant. Today, The Local Slice serves our hometown with the same dedication and sense of community that started it all. Every pizza we make is a reminder that sometimes the best journeys lead you right back home.
The Concept

The Concept

The Local Slice is built around homemade pizza and dessert pies, with everything made fresh in-house daily—reinforced by their “Everything made in house” approach. Its dual focus on savory pizza and sweet pies sets it apart from a typical pizza shop.
